Civic green

Returning from Glasgow this afternoon, i found Edinburgh's citizens and their tourist visitors using Princes St Gardens as was intended, I'm sure, by the city councillors who bought the land and ensured there would be no houses built on the south side of the new street.

Rest and re-creation, unstructured by commercial interests.

Unfortunately, in Edinburgh, those commercial interests have increasing control of our green spaces.

In extras - a large number of Scottish citizens and fellow-travellers got political in the civic sphere i Glasgow.
