Newt and Tadpole

Our pond may not have the clearest water in the world but it is very good for wildlife and while we were sat outside having breakfast we were amazed to see lots of newts. At one point we counted seven but I'm sure there are far more than that.

It proved very difficult getting a picture because they only briefly raised their heads above water but when I looked at this one I noticed I had got a tadpole perfectly in focus although I didn't realise it was there at the time.
