May Beetle

“Maikäfer flieg,
Mein Vater ist im Krieg,
Meine Mutter ist in Pommerland,
Pommerland ist abgebrannt,
Maikäfer flieg.“

Maybeetle fly,
My father is at the war,
My mother is in Pomerania,
Pomerania is burnt down,
Maybeetle fly.

(My literally translation of an old German nursery rhyme, which I admit not to have understood to the day.)

We have thousands of the funny looking beasts in our garden alone, the area is full of them.
