It's a Boy!

The Pileated Pair brought their little boy around this morning, probably to introduce him to the Bog, the Winged Elm Tree, the Bird Bath, and of course...the BarkButter Buffet! He was so cute with his little spiky-red crest and his wide open eyes. He's the spit'n image of his dad, but of course a whole lot smaller. I was hoping that they would have two chicks this year since that's been their pattern. Except last year I don't believe they had any. I didn't see Junior anywhere near the BarkButter feeders but I'm certain it won't take him long to get the hang of that. I didn't see mom, so maybe there is another young'un and she just hasn't introduced it to it's world yet.
