Beekeepers have a saying that once the apple is in flower it is a sign that the  bee colonies can look after themselves and have enough nectar.

That is good because during the long cold spring one has had to keep a close watch on the hives in order to make sure that they were not running short of food.

So now one can prepare for the swarming season....
