Manging Monjiyaki

Monjiyaki is a Tokyo version of another dish (called Otenyaki or similar), where you fry your vegetables and meat (or cabbage in my case) in oil on a hot plate at your table. You then add a liquid to bind it all together and scrape food up with a small spatula-like implement. My friend Yujira-san took me, and it was a lot of fun. The proprietors were amazed to see a gaijin, and so we chatted and took a photo together.

A good day.

Bye Barbara
