Today is a bank holiday in France, everything is closed except the cemetaries -these are packed with picnickers!

This has meant that I have had to forego my daily visit to the Patisserie, which means that Jane Withershas probably overtaken me in my private little 'who can eat the most cakes in a week' duel.

In other exciting news...

My French host informs me that they (the French) invented Halloween and exported it abroad.

I did not argue. I expect they did the same with KFC and McDonalds.

Dramatic skies today, always threatening rain, always remaining warm and dry. But you still have to carry your rain coat.

I liked the wine themed weather vane.
