Whirls And Twirls

The painting we discussed during the Parents Art Looking.  It''s by Sol Lewitt who had passed away by the time this piece was finished.  It was commissioned by the museum for their cafeteria and is one of two that connect but are hung about 100 feet apart. The artist gave specific instructions on how it was to be drawn and painted.  The painting was done by a group of interns and the idea was that no one color was adjacent to the same color in the whole piece.  We watched a short video on the making of it - fascinating.

In extra, are some of the parent mentors doing the Creativity piece of the evening - collages using pieces of colored paper.  The conversation that flows during this part of the evening is amazing and hopefully helpful.
