Released into the wild

We awoke to the sound of heavy rain in darkest Killarney. We knew it was going to be thus so amused ourselves with a large breakfast, an extremely damp mooch around Muckross Abbey and then scones and coffee in the nearby café. The weather was supposed to perk up at around 1pm and HImself had a good 6 hours/12 miles ahead of him, so poncho on, he was released them into the wild at around midday! You will be glad to hear the weather perked up a little and he has now reached the Black Valley, disappointed to find his hostess speaks no Irish as he was hoping to practice his!

A great few day and a bit - I've taken in 6 holy wells, various Ogham stones, two abbeys and a round tower; and marvelled at the number of tourists buzzing around Killarney, mostly French. No wonder really, it is stunningly beautiful.

Two starving cats, two starving foxes and a multitude of starving birds awaited me.

And good news, son#2's van has arrived safely in New Zealand and is now in his possession, the customs persons seemingly satisfied.
