Arichonan Village

On the last day of our camping trip we visited Arichonan, a village that was entirely evicted during the Highland Clearances. It was the scene of a huge riot on Whitsunday in 1848 when the tenants were evicted, with many arrested and imprisoned for several months. Their ancestors are now spread across the world from Canada to Australia.
A beautiful but sad place to visit.
