Onion Tart

I overstocked on onions a couple of weeks ago, so as they were looking very much in need of using up, I decided to make an onion tart - or 
Tarte à l'oignon to be more accurate, as the recipe came from one of my favourite French cookery books. It was voted a success, I'm glad to say.
