Emergency Preparedness

I back-blipped this from November 1. We were advised to set some water aside in case of power outages due to Hurricane/Tropical Storm Sandy. Sure enough, the lights went out yesterday (Oct 29) about the same time Sandy made landfall near Atlantic City, New Jersey about 800 km away. We were watching some TV on the laptop when everything went dark. Alas, the outage was local to our townhouse complex. Main hydro is still out and we are being powered by a portable generator until they figure out what the trouble is (the wires and whatnot are underground so it isn't a fallen tree limb. Oh, well. We went off to see the movie Cloud Atlas. It's a wonderful film. Go see it. The power was restored while we were out.
