Green Shoots

Today we visted the Glencruitten Estate above Oban to see the Cathedral of Trees - see extra - which I'd heard so much about. I'd always imagined lofty trees forming a nave - their trunks soaring and their branches intertwining overhead. Instead it was a small space with some heavily pruned fastigiate yews and other shrubs. I was obviously expecting too much.

Later on I popped into the Walled Garden which is run by Green Shoots, part of Hope2Oban, a Christian group, and used as a growing space by many local individuals and groups, particularly those with learning and other difficulties. A good sunny day today which made a change!
