Just you watch where you put your feet!

First things first. We went up to a working bee at the Belair Station this morning, and did a bit of gardening. I have a heap of spare plants so plan to donate some to brighten the place up a bit. There used to be a keen gardener look after it, but regretfully he passed away some years ago, and no-one has taken a real interest since then. Till now that is!!

The Rower had plans to blip either the Overland Train (passenger service between Adelaide and Melbourne - very old and historic service), or a freight train coming through. He'll tell you the rest of the story.

I found a dead moth in the signal box, which had the most gorgeous wings, and I was going to blip that, but on the computer screen it looked a bit moth-eaten (sorry), so went off that idea.

So - emergency blip time, and I wasn't quite ready to do another shot of the pink red hot poker, so a quick trip down to Blip Heaven, Belair National Park. This time we took a few stale biscuits, and had a ball feeding the ducks. The turtles swam in hopefully, but didn't really get much of a look in. The ducks stand on them to get a better chance of a feed.

A passer-by said that there were babies on the other side of the water, so a quick scrabble to gather belongings - I was sitting on the ground, and was very careful to put my camera aside just in case I took a dive and fell in. No dramas, although the Rower did have his camera at the ready.

We found some Dusky Moorhen babies (Gallinula tenebrosa) and I think they are barely 12 hours old. They still have their monks tonsure, and looked very baby indeed. But they were swimming away alongside Mum, and looking to her for guidance.

What do you think to those very colourful feet. Aren't they huge!!

Even huge-er
