Before the storm

For about three quarters of an hour before the rains finally broke there was a constant rumble in the darkened clouds above us. It sounded, I imagined, like the constant rumble of a very long North American goods train passing through the clouds. Walking beneath this warm and acoustic atmosphere I had a sense of expectant excitement for the rain I hoped would follow.
In my selfish desire, nature did not disappoint. After the few days of heat and dryness, I was glad to experience seeing rain so thick, smells so green and air so renewed.

I wish emotions and regrets could be cleansed as effectively and as wonderfully as this.
