Das Unwetter/The Storm

When I left the office this afternoon, it was sunny and very warm (26°C/78°F).  And when I was in the city centre I was faced by this, which was very much darker than my optimistic camera recorded it.  This huge black cloud swept towards me and there were the first claps of thunder.

Where I was heading (without a jacket) was about 15 minutes away and I wondered if I was going to escape the inevitable downpour.

Of course I didn't.

I did manage to find some shelter though.  Thank heavens for shops with awnings. And i watched the rain bouncing off the pavement (and also a guest appearance of some hail as well) for some 10 minutes.

It's just as well I plan on being everywhere early.
