isle of may

9pm and D and I are just home from a loooong day out with the Dunscore Birdwatching Group. Colin drove the Community bus all the way up to Anstruther in Fife, where we caught a boat (the May Princess) to the Isle of May. An hour's sailing to the island, and 2 and a half hours to explore, which I thought was a long time, but it went in a flash. It was lovely weather. Most of the birds have only recently arrived and are building nests (or in the case of puffins, preparing their holes). Here you can see some guillemots and in the background, the Bass Rock.

Too late to write about all the amazing stuff on the island..if youre interested, read it HERE.
