STEAM . . .

. . . PUNK comes early . . . this is a Garden Tiger Moth caterpillar, also known as the Woolly Bear.
Common in both the UK and North America. This was about 50mm long and, as you can see, it has a black head with long white hairs, alongside black and ginger hairs and a line of small white spiracular spots. Those hairs provide some mean protection . . . gerroff !
