Hens Teeth

In Norfolk, Blue Poppies are not quite as rare as Hens Teeth but it's been many years since I got this close to seeing one in flower here.  It's a bit of a cheat as the plant was a gift from a friend in Shropshire who has wetter and more humid conditions to offer them, with a stream running along their boundary.  I planted this year old seedling out last October on the cooler, shadier side of our patch and worked in some humus around it.  Things are looking good for flowers in a little while.

A busy sort of a day.  Good job I'm feeling a little brighter.  Jacinta's pre-op this afternoon and a trip to the supermarket beckons this evening  to stock up before my Mum arrives tomorrow.
