Having not watched much of Outlander I had no idea what Culross Palace was going to be like - I was imagining something vaguely castley like Linlithgow, not something a bit like the yellow buildings in the Dean Village. Better than the palace itself and the playpark were the scuttley ancient bits up the hill at the back, including the clamberable abbey and lots and lots of steps. We shall doubtless return.
