Bingo!

A female praying mantis that found her own way into the greenhouse laid her eggs today. I was especially pleased to see this as I couldn’t find three females that were there yesterday. During the night we had a southerly squall that would have been violent in the greenhouse, because of the position of the vent and the loose poly walls that flap in the wind. The old ladies may not have survived. They didn’t come out of hiding into the first sunshine for several days.

This ootheca brings the total to 14 that I have found this season.
