reaching out creates visibility

Today is International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
In my day job I have to deal with people who society push to the margins, who are voiceless, sometimes state-less. While this is one day to recognise and raise awareness of specifically LGBT matters, living with discrimination is a 365 day a year experience for many of our fellow humans from a wide variety of backgrounds, whom society considers different. Difference includes race, ethnicity, ability and disability, sex and gender, race and sexual orientation to name but a few.
So, maybe today, for one minute, you might reflect on your own view of "the other" , the "one who is different" - whoever that is and redouble your efforts to act towards them with generosity.
Reaching out renders invisible people, visible!
