Ladies on the Links

Today, Gina and friend Carol ran a new golf tournament, "Ladies on the Links". For this event at the Magnolia Greens Golf Plantation, they recruited 94 lady golfers to play for the benefit of Lower Cape Fear Hospice. It was quite a day. The ladies arrived early for Bloody Marys and Mimosas, full breakfast, vendors and a putting contest. Once play started, golfers were greeted at Hole #4 with a wine tasting and a cup of Tomato Basil soup. Grilled shrimp on a stick was available at the turn, and Fred, Margie, Ron and Pat made sandwiches on Hole 15, while a second wine tasting took place on Hole 16. Desert and prizes greeted the ladies at the clubhouse when they finished.

But why the piper? The Scottish theme for the tournament of course. The fine musician is Peter McArthur, who happens to be the resident bagpiper for Pinehurst, the "Home of American Golf".

And finally no, Magnolia Greens is anything but a "links" style course. Some liberties were taken in the title.
