1st Rose of Spring for the Last of a "Gang of 4"

This beauty is the first rose of spring in our garden.

I'm blipping it in memory of my Uncle John whose life we celebrated at his funeral this afternoon. He was the youngest, and last surviving, of 4 children (my Mum, who died 9 years ago, was the eldest). He was 89, so he'd had a good innings although for the last 20+ years he'd been very deaf. Earlier in life he'd had a lovely bass singing voice which he really enjoyed using, especially for hymns and musicals - sadly his deafness took away his ability to sing. The preacher at his funeral celebrated his singing however: he gave a wonderful eulogy into the words of which he managed to squeeze the titles of 89 songs from musicals which was a lovely touch.
