Which way?

We knew our Blackbirds were nesting somewhere in the garden, as they usually do, but we have not been able to find the nest. Then today I saw dad leading two youngsters across the drive. I went outside and just caught this one as he was trying to figure out where he was supposed to be going. Then he disappeared under the hedge and they all flew off. They keep them so well hidden, this is the first time we have seen the young. It helps of course if you have a messy wild garden – so many places to hide your young.

And yes I did watch – but only the arrival and the service. The Guardian said that was okay, as we don’t object to the young couple, it’s the idea of monarchy itself that is questionable. And there was so little emphasis on the minor royals I did not have chance to get annoyed. What a great service it was too. Love that young cellist, Sheku Hannah-Mason - gorgeous music.
