More babies

Sunday 20th May 2018

This afternoon the garden has been a hive of activity. The birds have knocked all the seed from the feeder down to the ground. The two little tree sparrows are beginning to get the idea but are still relying on parents to feed them, despite standing on the seed. There was also a young family of house sparrows, who all seemed confident enough to feed themselves, and a large family of young starlings who just stood on the grass and screamed until fed by a parent. It was all happening at once. This little robin hopped into the feeding frenzy and looked a bit bemused by it all. It was on its own.

The total takings for the shop this year was £16,552.83, which was just under £500 more than last year. We still have some expenses to take off that. Not bad for one week! It is incredible how we manage to get that each year.
