Liz Knight, of Forage Fine Foods, exhibits some common hogweed. She says: the flower buds are like broccoli, the green seeds can be infused in liquor to turn it into something like Cointreau, and the young shoots are better than asparagus! But raw it can irritate the skin. Note the gloves! Not to be confused with giant hogweed, which is a notifiable anti-social brute, contact with which is very, very bad news.
