Ackergill Tower Trio

We’ve arrived in Wick, the farthest North I’ve ever been so far. The hotel is in a castle , a tower built probably around 1475. A wonderful atmosphere, grand but not inhibiting. We were a bit too early for the check-in, so we waited in the lounge with tea and biscuits and that’s when I captured this trio of plates on the grand piano. There’s even a guitar in the corner but I couldn’t find another musical instrument to complete a musical trio as a bonus. For MonoMonday with thanks to MerrilHope for hosting this month.

So, we drove from Invergordon to Wick today in rather dreich weather. We had a very short stop at the Glenmorangie Distillery, which was so full of other tourists that we decided to continue the trip without a tour there. Then off to Dunrobin Castle, what a grand castle that is (see extra) ! And on to Wick , this tower and three sets of stairs for our tower room overlooking the sea. Tomorrow John o’ Groats , Dunnet and Thurso, weather conditions may be the same as today.

Thanks very much for your kind comments and stars for yesterday’s Blip and the AT 151 results !
