Xia Pa Zi

This (and a few of its buddies) is what we will have for dinner on Monday. It's Terri's favourite and when she's had a tough time, about the only thing that brings a smile to her face is if I say "Bugs for dinner?". That's what we call them. The Chinese is Xia Pa Zi which translates to Shrimp (xia) Climbers (pa). I looked for them online and in English they are called Mantis shrimp. They are GREAT with a little soy sauce. This one is about 18 cm long.

They usually don't look this good. They are usually just a plain grey but when I saw the colours on these at the market, I thought they'd make a good weekend blip.
