Passing Poppies

I took a few photos from the train as we were passing through the Languedoc region of France.

The train from Barcelona arrived on time but then the problems started. We found a taxi rank and waited for ages before one turned up. There were three people in front of us in the queue but before he left the driver told us it would be better to go to the other taxi rank as the road was blocked and other taxis couldn’t get through. We found the other taxi rank and there was a huge queue. Apparently the metro was closed and there were police blocks because of the protests so we saw just 3 taxis in the first 1 ½ hours. It was 2 hours by the time we got a taxi. There was a thunderstorm and it was raining. Luckily we were in the dry for most of the time. Of course we missed our train and had to get it re-booked for the princely sum of €40 each but at least we should get to London this evening. I think we will both be glad to get home tomorrow.
