Past and Present

This just about sums up Whitby today - it was full of Goths and tourists - and this statue of Captain Cook must have seen some sights.

Spent most of the day in Whitby - parking is free in winter - it is the Whitby Goth Weekend - and there were some amazing costumes - and lots of older people wearing them well.

We visited the Bizarre Bazaar - an indoor market for all things Gothic - and we were in the minority - and then just wondered about about the town taking in the sights

This evening we are having a celebratory meal in a hostelry near our hotel - hand pulled local beers - open fires - good food - to celebrate our 39th Wedding Anniversary.

All in all an extraordinary day.
