Human tower in Tarragona

Last day in this lovely city and I wanted to celebrate the Catalonian culture by blipping the Monumento a los Castellers (1999) or Monument to the Castellers by Frances Angles. 

112 characters, (some are portraits of famous people like Gaudi and Picasso), 11 metres, 12 tons. 

A castell is a human tower that are made at festivals in Catalonia and Valencia. The tradition is at least 200 years old and is declared by UNESCO to amongst the Masterpieces of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

It's amazing what people can do when they stand shoulder to shoulder!
