Sandy Skies

Taken at home in New Jersey about 3 hours after Sandy made landfall on the shore in the south of the state. At this stage we had been without power for about 3 hours. Them wind was bending the trees by ridiculous amounts and when the gusts came you could hear them coming through the forest like a freight train coming straight towards you.

Straight off camera Hand held long exposure. Camera held in 2 positions during shot.

Today we got our power back (Saturday the 3rd Nov).

We have some roofing shingles missing but other than that damage to our own property was minimal. There are a collosal amount of downed trees... on houses, cars, powerlines and roads.

At some stages during the night I really thought the bedroom wall was going to be torn off.
