Many moons ago, last year, we bought some Gardman fat balls and they were hardly touched by the birds, but it was after the breading season so we guessed they weren’t too hungry.  We went back to Vine House Farm fat balls anyway and the remainder of the Gardman balls were put to one side.
 
A day or so ago I found the remaining Gardman balls and decided to try an experiment with two Gardman balls and two Vine House Farm balls in the feeder.  At the end of yesterday the feeder looked like the insert, and by this afternoon – well the blip says it all – Vine House Farm two, Gardman nil.  Some fat balls heading for the ‘tip’ me thinks . . .
