A star in the making

A superb day at the Oval watching the mighty Surrey defeat Gloucestershire in a 50 over match. The win was set up by a magnificent innings by 19 year old Will Jacks who scored 121 runs from 100 balls. The main shot is of his celebration at scoring his maiden century in only his fourth first team appearance. The first extra is of him hitting the six with which he brought up that milestone. For me the most telling picture is the second extra which shows his obvious disappointment at being dismissed - this is a young man with very obvious and very serious talent. Surrey have an amazing group of young players at the moment and if they all fulfil their potential they could dominate county cricket in a few years time - or they could all get called up for England and the county will slip back into the second tier in their absence!
