Meet Me by the Big Tree

The Big Tree was a 140 year old Monterey Cypress, 92ft tall and a landmark in Paignton. In 2001 it was cut down as it was diseased and dangerous. Seats and faces were later carved into the stump, For newcomers like me who need to know where to turn it is an ideal landmark for the turn up Fisher Street from Dartmouth Road. I think there should be more of them.
