The Old Forge (Thursday 24th May 2018)

The tree fern I planted in March has been largely dormant since, and I was afraid the cold had got it when we had a -7° frost unexpectedly one night while it was unprotected, but now these beautiful fronds have started growing.

Brenda Holloway - Reconsider (recorded 8 June 1966, Los Angeles CA)
Brenda Holloway guested on the Radcliffe-Maconie show on this day talking about her Motown days, and one of the tracks played on the show was this much loved Northern Soul classic. It was a favourite in the clubs in the early seventies from a bootleg pressing because, like so many great Motown records, it was never released at the time. Its first official release was in 1997 on a compilation of Motown Northern Soul, where it was titled Think It Over (Before You Break My Heart).
