In recent years one has had terrible trouble in trying to grow brassicas.  Now that there are no longer any effective insecticides (assuming one would want to use them anyway) my annual plantings have been decimated by cabbage root fly.

Now you can buy expensive sheets of stuff to cover them over but I was given a tip about this netting.

It is the netting that is used by builders to put around scaffolding. It just happens that one has some tucked away from an old job.  Oh and you may recognise the blue hoops as well.....
