The iron bridge - Cragside

This is a view of the graceful footbridge spanning Debdon Burn on the Cragside Estate in Northumberland. Known as the Iron Bridge, it has a span of 64 feet and crosses the burn at a height of over 35 feet. Currently the rhododendrons, for which the gardens are renowned, are in full bloom, as are the scented yellow and orange azaleas.
Cragside, the dream home of Lord and Lady Armstrong is a large Victorian house that was light-years ahead of its time, being the first building in the world to be powered by its own hydro-electricity. The estate is now in the hands of the National Trust.

Today's extra shows part of the exterior of the house. There is currently exterior renovation and decoration being undertaken, and this was the only shot I could get without including scaffolding.
