Comicpalooza & Aquarium

I was very grateful to have a customer up in Houston that wanted to meet today. It allowed Juaquin and I to take off at around 12, instead of after work. The drive seemed to fly by. We stopped at Bucee's on the way up, and Juaquin grabbed two pulled pork sandwiches, and I had a salad.

We arrived at Starbucks at around 3:15 in Houston, and met up with Jim Waller with Solaris Homes. I say all the time I'm very lucky to always meet such agreeable potential customers. He was a grandpa type older gentleman, and he seemed to be extremely interested in using us for a hotel job on Galveston. The meeting finished up in about 30 minutes, and Juaquin and I continued on our way.

We arrived at the Marriot Marquis at around 4:30-5 and had our vehicle parked, and then reparked because I forgot our Comicpalooza tickets. The area was speckled with people in funky costumes. Some we recognized, and others we had no clue.

After a few moments in the room, we headed down and across the street to the George R Brown Conference Center. Houston's streets smell like they are passing gas. After we passed security we found a huge room filled with comic books, cosplay, booths, paintings, graphic art, food, and everything nerd you could think of.

We wandered around taking it all in. Juaquin got pulled to a booth by a gay jester that wanted to tell him about his Gay Pirate Romance Novel where he goes on an adventure with Captian Cock and his seamen. I laughed so hard, because this is the same guy who annoyed Juaquin to death at the renaissance fair.

It didn't take long for us to decide to grab an autograph for Randy from Krysten Ritter. I have never met a famous person before. It was bizarre seeing someone in person, after seeing them in TV series. Krysten was super petite and kind. She signed the autograph for us. I wish we had more to say to her, but we've actually not really seen any of her shows.

Cara and Melissa then texted us to let us know they were getting close. Rather than have them park, we told them to drive around until we could jump in so we could go out to eat.

We rode in Melissa's new car, over to the Aquarium. The girls had a good drive up, but according to Cara Melissa isn't the best driver.

I think the Aquarium has to be my absolute favourite restaurant! Its environment is extremely immersive and you literally feel as if you are eating a meal under the sea. It also helps that they have the most amazing chocolate lava cake called the Shark Attack.

We skyped Dad after we ate, and showed him around. He would absolutely love it there.

I think we are all really looking forward to tomorrow and meeting Tom Holland.
