Learning day by day

Hogsmeade

Where to start, this holiday has been amazing but today was a whole other level (at least for the Potter fans amongst us). It was chucking it down with rain most of the morning but all that meant was that we postponed a lot of the Harry Potter stuff and did a lot of the indoor rides in the Studios (downfall of that was Will was upset at the end as we didn't manage to get the rides on the Island done).

Will's teacher had leant us her interactive wand, three others teachers had leant us robes. All worked to make the day better. The robes ensured that the kids both met Ollivander, Carys first with a girl he took to be her sister and had a wand choose her. Ollivander then asked Will to wait behind and when everyone else had gone he had a wand choose Will. I can't remember what the wands were made of now but Ollivander told Carys hers was for someone who was honest, friendly and artistic and Will that his was for someone who was good at talking and would make their mark in the world. That did make me laugh!

We changed money at Gringotts and bought ice cream from Florian Fortesque's. Did spells that lit up windows and made feathers levitate, mooched round Borgin and Burkes. Rode on the Hogwarts Express both ways, bought butterbeer, which thankfully Carys loved because I didn't. I could go on. It cost an arm and a leg for three of us for one day, but I am so glad we did it.
