The River Hunter

Went into Maitland, the main town round here and had a coffee and walk around the high street.  Just on the other side of the High St was this view, so close to the main town and this is the elusive Hunter River - we had been in the valley for a couple of days and seen no river.  Took this panorama with L at the end of it.  Drank wine and had a Greek mezes meal in the evening before retiring to bed early so I could get up at 4 am to watch Liverpool.  Sad end to the final but a good day otherwise.  The extra is hidden but couldn't resist posting proof that political correctness has not quite made it to Rural Eastern Australia!
