Getting the sparkle back

Haystoun Loch

We visited Haystoun at the end of our walk today as it was open for the Scotland's Gardens scheme. The house dates from the sixteenth century and, amazingly, has been in the ownership of the same family since then. I had walked past it on my way up and down Glen Sax, but had never had the chance to see the house and garden. The loch was created in the early 90s and I had seen it when passing, but hadn't had such a good view of it before. I expect Mrs Swan was somewhere on the large island (which is out of sight) sitting on a nest.
