Bumper Crop

It's been a very good year for nesting Northern Cardinals. Major rain and storms have held off long enough for them to have at least a couple of broods. The young birds are flying around in their usual adolescent  'packs'. The young males are beginning to get their deep red color, as evidenced by this little guy. I don't often blip Cardinals, not sure why except maybe because they are so common around here I just don't think of it. So here's one. He'll no doubt be a 'stunner' by next Spring.
Monday, we here in the U.S. celebrate Memorial Day as a federal holiday for remembering the people who died serving in the country's armed forces.
Wishing all of you a peaceful week. :)
