Diary of an Edinburgher

The haar lifted this morning! Joy of joys! And we had a hot, sunny blue skies day. In fact, it was too hot to sit out the front in the morning, and almost too hot in the afternoon, but we have plenty of shade.

Archie went off with Jordan for a big walk, JR went off to do her exececutive housekeeping stint, Tineke and I chopped down a big old camellia bush to make way for something more fitting, and Wim did his crosswords inside (too hot outside).

In the afternoon, we did various activities - I snoozed and/or listened to some podcasts in the back garden. Wim snoozed and/or did his crosswords on the sofa (too hot outside), while JR, Tineke and Archie went off for another walk. JR wanted to show Tineke Archie's favourite walk in the Hermitage, so that she could take him there when we’re away. T found it rather longer than she anticipated and may be feeling a bit stiff tomorrow... (Photo by JR).

Time for a BBQ in the afternoon! Archie was very good with the neighbours. For the first time, he walked over to them to say hello without barking. And he didn’t have his collar on. Good boy.

This evening we took Archie down to stay with his pal Rufus for the night. We have a Very Early Flight tomorrow, so it's best he misses that palaver. Christine kindly let me print off the boarding passes. We WILL get the correct little stamp on JR's pass this time.

Anyway, if it's wrong, I’ve warned her I’m boarding the plane without her this time.
