Snapberry Goes Large

It was a big night for me last night - the culmination of my Snapberry Goes Fourth project = the projection in the town square before the annual lantern procession and fireworks. Its always stressful - worrying whether the weather will hold, will the tecchie stuff (of which there is lots) work, whether the crowds will enjoy it, this year we had the added worry of whether the soundtrack could be heard - but much more importantly - will the pupils enjoy it.

Its a fabulous event - the biggest event of the year locally - and after a very wet afternoon the rain went off, the wind subsided, the lights went out and the projection came on - complete with soundtrack - especially written by Wild Biscuit Ltd for the occasion - and yes - it could be heard.

The pupils were in turn delighted and horrified to see not only their images - but images of themselves projected onto the gable walls.

The whole town seemed to either have a lantern in the parade or know people who had lanterns - and some spectacular creations they were too!

Following on from Fridays blip of the collapsed bonfire - the boys from the Round Table pulled out all the stops to create another alien head - the theme of the lantern procession this year was Alien Invasion. We then had a spectacular bonfire and firework display.

Well done to everyone involved for making another memorable night in Lochgilphead. Heres to next year!
