Not so modern

At last, I've found something older than me.

Clearing out the bookshelves today I discovered this little reminder of how things were back in 1936. I'm sure Mrs Rex's father was delighted to be gifted it back then at the impressionable age of thirteen. Tales of fiction with undertones of racism and imperialism, king and country and derring-do with lots of aeroplanes, motor cars and steam trains thrown in for good measure. All in black and white of course. The two colour images reserved for 'The King Reviews his Fleet' and 'Vengeance from the Sky.'

Wouldn't get that sort of thing in books these days. Much easier using the Playstation or XBox to pay 'Call of Duty' 'Modern Warfare' or Grand Theft Auto. Or Fortnite even...
