Vale of Lorton Walk - Loweswater to Buttermere

This a very interesting tree. It's a holly tree, and is the only individual tree marked on the Ordnance Survey map in The Lake District. It's the Mosedale Holly Tree.

We walked from Loweswater village via the valley of Mosedale to Buttermere, passing by the shore of Crummockwater. It was a much shorter day today, only about 7 miles.

But we didn't stop and rest. As it's May, and bluebell season, we couldn't miss the bluebells in Rannerdale. So after a short stop for a big ice cream in Buttermere village we set off again, and added another 3-4 miles to our day's tally! It was worth it though.

Weatherwise, we had another perfect walking day. We stayed at the Fish Inn in Buttermere
