The Hebrides day 4

Day 3

We went to bed last night at 11 o’clock and it was still daylight, wow! This morning the sun was shining again. We had breakfast and cycled to the ferry that would take us over to Harris.

Harris is quite different to the southern Hebrides, it’s very hilly! By the time we got off the ferry, grabbed a quick coffee from the Butty Bus it must have been 11 o’clock. The first part of the day was over the Harris Hills, slow steady climbs in blistering heat. The scenery was spectacular with impressive mountains and stunning beaches. Then swooping down into Tarbert. By now it was 2 pm and we were really hungry, and feeling quite knackered.

The rest of the ride was in Lewis, not so impressive but lumpy and hard work.

We had a take away pizza for tea and ate it on the marina front.
