Wonder what this lens will do?

Has anyone used one of these before? A friend of mine gave this to me. This is a 0.43X Wide Angle Converter with Macro.. It connects to the tip of your other lenses to help create a wider angle. The challenge that I see is that the edges of the photo become vignetted with blur.. .could be artistic... is this more of an artistic lens? I need some ideas of what to do with it that makes it worth pulling out of my bag.
